Bowling Stands in Fourth after First Day of Wildcat Invitational

Panthers go 3-1 in Baker play, return to action tomorrow

Deland, Fla. - The Adelphi University bowling team completed day one of the Bethune Cookman University Wildcat Invitational in fourth place as the result of a 3-1 finish in Baker play.

The Panthers started the day with a 52 pin victory over the Hornets of Alabama State University, 753-701. Adelphi then handed the Rattlers of Florida A&M University a 125 pin defeat, 736-615.

The squad then added another 712 pins to their total during the bye round. The Monmouth Hawks were game opponents but the Panthers took an early 53 pin lead and held on against a surging Hawk squad for the 24 pin win, 705-681.

The Panthers assembled some late game heroics and fired a 196 pin effort in an attempt to overcome a Wildcat 41 pin lead but Bethune Cookman was able to hold on and claim the 17 pin win, 674-657.

The Panthers are now 13-2 on the season and return to play tomorrow in the second day of the tournament.
