Vestal, N.Y. - Senior back Mauricio Mora scored with 33 seconds left in regulation, leading Adelphi (2-4-0) to a 2-1 win over Binghamton (3-5-0) in a non-conference men's soccer game on Saturday night at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Panthers won in impressive fashion over the homecoming crowd of over 2,400 fans on hand.

With time winding down in regulation, Mora split through the Bearcat defense and from the top-right corner of the penalty box, he drilled a diagonal shot into the lower-left corner of the net. It was his first goal of the season.

Mora's heroics capped off a game that started slow but ended with a furious final 10 minutes. The Panthers outshot Binghamton 3-2 in the opening half and scored the lone goal when junior forward James Diana headed in a shot from close range in the 23rd minute. Junior midfielder Steven Rivera was credited with the assist.

Adelphi threatened to pad the lead early in the second half but sophomore goalkeeper Chris Hayen made three clutch saves during that span. From that moment, the Bearcats seized the momentum and made several attempts to tie the game. Freshman goalkeeper Christopher Herrera, however, stopped four shots in the first 35 minutes of the second half, keeping the Bearcats off the board.

Binghatmon finally deadlocked the game when senior back Jerome Robinson headed home a cross from sophomore forward Jake Keegan in the 82nd minute of the game. It was Robinson's first career goal.

Adlephi outshot Binghamton 13-11 for the game. Hayen and Herrera each finished with five saves.

The Panthers return to action on Tuesday, September 27 when they travel to Piscataway, New Jersey to take on the Scarlet Knights of Rutgers University in a non-conference contest at 7pm.
