Easton, MA - The women's soccer team took on the Skyhawks of Stonehill College earlier today in their second Northeast-10 matchup of the season. With the score knotted at zero through the late minutes of the second half, it was the Skyhawks that broke the deadlock with a game winning goal in the 87th minute to defeat the Panthers, 1-0. With the loss, Adelphi slips to 1-2, 0-2 NE-10 while Stonehill moves to 4-1, 2-1 NE-10.

Stonehill midfielder Maddie Manning broke the deadlock at the 87:23 mark with a goal on the top left shelf of the net, past Adelphi keeper, Sam Whitney. It would prove to be the game winning goal as the Panthers would not be able to tie the contest with time winding down.

Kaitlin Monteith, Meghan Carey, Sara Cote and Kim Volinski each had one shot on goal in the loss. Whitney made four saves in the loss while Skyhawk keeper, Amy Wheaton made four saves as well. Adelphi was outshot 13-6 and were at a disadvantage in corner kicks, 6-4.

The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, September 14 when they host American International College at Motamed Field at 7:00 pm.
