Garden City, N.Y. - The Adelphi University field hockey team won its fourth straight game with a 3-0 shutout of Saint Michael's College at Motamed Field on Sunday. The Panthers improve to 4-1 with their second consecutive shutout, while Saint Michael's falls to 0-5.

For Adelphi, senior Jeanette Heimerle scored the game's first goal on an assist by classmate Julianne Gerbino. Heimerle continued her streak of five straight games with at least  one goal, and junior Erin Grekin and sophomore Jamie Ackerman each scored their first goal of the season.

Senior Taylor Wahrenbrock had the best chance for Saint Michael's on a turnaround shot off a penalty corner that went wide in the 54th minute. The Purple Knights were outshot by the Panthers 21-12 and trailed 10-4 in penalty corners.

Adelphi senior goalie Lucia Vigliotti made five saves in 41 minutes of play, and junior Kristine Puzio stopped four shots to combine for the shutout. For Saint Michael's, senior goalie Jackie Stacey made seven saves in the first half, while freshmen Sarah Healey and Jackie Chisholm split goalie duties in the second half.

The Panthers travel to fourth-ranked Stonehill on Wednesday for a non-conference game at 4 p.m.
