Box Score
Colchester, Vt. - The Adelphi University field hockey team fell victim to the late game heroics of Saint Michael's College, losing 3-2 in overtime in a Northeast-10 Conference contest on Sunday. The Panthers, now 5-9 overall and 2-4 in league play, could not muster a shot in overtime and were put away by Purple Knights junior Hali Roy's game winner with 3:02 left in the overtime period.
Sophomore
Jamie Ackerman paced the Adelphi offense with a goal and an assist, while senior
Brittany Kinsley put the Panthers on the board early in the game with redirection goal after a penalty corner. Saint Michael's took a 2-1 lead in the 47th minute, but Ackerman answered with a clutch game-tying goal with just under 13 minutes to play. An overtime penalty corner would be the deciding factor, however, as Roy deposited a shot in the 81st minute to put the Panthers away.
Senior goalie
Lucia Vigliotti made six saves for Adelphi, while Jackie Stacey stopped five shots in goal for the Purple Knights.
Adelphi completes its three-game road trip when they travel to UMass-Lowell on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. NE-10 contest.
