Shaun Rutherford returned to Adelphi University on Oct. 29, 2018 as the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation. He was promoted to Associate Director in September 2023.
Rutherford returned to Garden City after two-and-a-half years as an Assistant Director of Athletic Development and Special Events at Hofstra University in Hempstead.
There, he spearheaded various athletic golf outings for athletic team fundraising, prepares suites for lacrosse and basketball ticket holders on game days, participated in general alumni and donor relations and assisted with any other fundraising function/event for all of Hofstra's athletic programs.
Rutherford was an events and facilities graduate assistant at Adelphi in the 2014-15 and 2015-16 school years after working as an athletic operations and special events assistant at LIU Post from 2012 to 2014.Â
Rutherford is a 2012 graduate of York College, where he earned his degree in sports management and minored in applied youth development as a member of the baseball team.
He also earned a master's degree in sports management with a focus in athletic administration from Adelphi.
