SaraJo (SJ) Weinstein enters her first season as an assistant athletic trainer for the department in 2021-22.

Weinstein re-joins the Adelphi staff after some time at nearby Division I LIU with the Schwarz Institute. Before her graduate assistantship at Adelphi from 2018-20, she had a one-year stint at Reinhardt University in Waleska, Ga., where she served as the primary care provider for the women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball, football, and men's and women's tennis teams in the capacity of a certified athletic training intern.

Prior to starting her internship with the Eagles, she completed her bachelor of science in athletic training at Stony Brook University. There, she had the opportunity to work with a range of sports and on a range of sites, including the Seawolves' Division I women's basketball and men's soccer programs and with 20 teams under Section XI at William Floyd High School and Miller Place High School.

"We are thrilled to welcome SJ back to our team," said Gavagan. "She has gained invaluable experience since she finished her graduate assistantship with us two years ago. Her personality, skills and dedication will be a tremendous addition to our staff."

Residing in nearby West Hempstead, Weinstein is a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer in addition to being a New York State Certified Athletic Trainer.

She is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Inc. and is CPR certified by the American Heart Association.
