Margaret Maclean

Margaret Maclean was named the fourth head coach in Adelphi University field hockey program history on May 4, 2026, as announced by Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Danny McCabe.

Maclean comes to Garden City with coaching experience at multiple levels, bringing both Division I and Division II experience to the Panthers.

Most recently, Maclean served as the head coach at the University of New Haven, where she oversaw all aspects of the program. During her tenure, she helped guide the Chargers through the school's transition to Division I.

Prior to New Haven, Maclean spent time as both an assistant coach and head coach at Allegheny College, where she played a key role in launching the field hockey program. She was also a member of the coaching staff that earned NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year honors in 2022.

Before beginning her coaching career, Maclean was a standout student-athlete at Pace University, where she became familiar with the Northeast 10 Conference. She served as a key contributor to the Setters' defense over three seasons, earning team captain honors and Second Team All-America recognition during her career.

Maclean also spent one season at Millersville University, where she was a member of the 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship team.

Maclean graduated from Pace University with a bachelor's degree in communications and a minor in sports marketing. She is currently completing her Master of Science in Sport Management from the University of New Haven.

Maclean brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Adelphi, having competed and coached in championship-level environments throughout her career.
