Patalano, a Long Island native, arrived to Garden City in the Summer of 2024 and serves as the primary sports information contact for men's soccer, women's soccer, men's tennis, women's tennis, men's basketball, women's bowling and baseball.
Before coming to Adelphi, Patalano was the Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Long Island University. In this role, he was the primary media contact for all 15 Brooklyn-based Division I athletic programs, including flagship sports such as men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, and softball. He later expanded his responsibilities to include golf, gymnastics, and bowling during their spring seasons. Patalano managed all aspects of sports information, including game recaps, statistical updates, award announcements, and website maintenance. He also ran the official social media accounts, created digital content, and served as the primary team photographer.
In addition to his collegiate experience, Patalano gained valuable professional experience with the New York Islanders. He served as the Head Game Day Communications Intern during the 2022–23 season, where he led a team of interns, facilitated media access, and ensured smooth game day operations. He assisted with game previews, press box announcements, and worked closely with media members, NHL officials, and the Islanders’ communications staff to provide accurate and timely information. His tenure began as a Game Day Communications Intern in 2021, where he was instrumental in credentialing media, distributing game statistics, and supporting upper management.
Patalano is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in film production in 2021. He later completed his master’s degree in journalism at Hofstra University in 2023.
