Chris Velaoras enters his first year in campus recreation as a graduate assistant for intramural sports and special events in the 2024-25 academic year.
As an undergraduate, Velaoras played on the club basketball team while earning his degree in Sport Management with a minor in business in May of 2024.
Most recently, Velaoras served as a gameday marketing intern for the New York Mets, assisting with the Mr. and Mrs. Met Kids Clubs along with helping in field tours and special events.
Velaoras has previously worked with the Long Island Nets as a team attendant, where he assists the Coordinator of Basketball Operations with various tasks mainly in practice duties. He also worked at the 2023 US Open in Flushing, N.Y. as a locker room attendant.
Velaoras made the Dean's List in every semester as an undergraduate except one, graduating with nearly a 3.7 cumulative grade-point-average.
