Before Adelphi: Participated in varsity softball at shortstop and second base at West Hempstead High School... captained softball team as a junior and senior...earned six-year varsity softball award... helped team to Nassau County championships in 2001, named team MVP...all-division (99) and all-conference (01-02)...also lettered four-years in volleyball...LI Class B Finalist (01-02)...all-county (00-02), all-conference (99)...named as one of Long Island's Top 50 volleyball players four consecutive years (99-02)...New York State Outstanding Physical Education Student (2001)...National Student-Athlete Award (2000)...member of Athletes Helping Athletes...as a senior, named Student Council President and Peer Mediation President.

Personal: Daughter of Ann and Frank Cappolla......a psychology and education major...her brother, Tom, was a pitcher at Ramapo College of N.J.
