Patawe Simms

Patawe Simms enters her second season as an assistant coach after a standout career as a member of the Adelphi University women’s volleyball team.  A four-year starter for the Panthers, Simms will be responsible for assisting with practice management and recruiting.

Simms led the Panthers to a 23-8 finish in 2011, helping Adelphi capture its first Northeast-10 title and an NCAA East Region semi-final appearance for the second year in a row.  She was named to the 2011 Northeast-10 All-Conference Second Team along with the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division II All-Region Team.

She held a .235 attack percentage in 2011, the highest among the Panthers and ninth in the NE-10. She finished the season with the second-most kills (232), kills per set (2.34) and blocks (58) on the team.  She was also one of the three players to appear in all 31 matches.

Her career concluded with 840 kills, leaving Simms just outside of Adelphi's all-time top-five, but her four-year total of 253 blocks puts her fourth in program history.
