Katherine 'Kat' Mendez concluded her fourth season as an assistant coach for the Adelphi University women's soccer team in 2021.
A fixture in local youth soccer, Mendez has spent time at the Waldorf School in Garden City, having been the head coach of the high school team since August of 2016. She has also served as a coach with the Garden City Centennial Soccer Club, and as an assistant with the Long Island Junior Soccer League Player Development Program (LIJSL PDP) College Tour program.
Previously, she served as a developmental youth coach with the Woodhaven Soccer Club. In addition, Mendez has been an assistant coach for the Waldorf basketball and softball teams in her time at the school.
Mendez is certified in first aid and CPR/AED, and holds 'D', 'E' and 'F' certifications in coaching from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF), and holds a dual degree in Sports Management and Physical Education from Adelphi.
