Jacqueline Williams enters her second year as an assistant coach with the women's lacrosse program in 2016 and her responsibilities will include working with the defense and recruiting.
During her four years as a defensive mainstay for the Panthers, Williams racked up three IWLCA First-Team All-America awards, three IWLCA First-Team All-Region honors, three Northeast-10 First-Team All-Conference honors and was twice named the Northeast-10 Defender of the Year.
However, she reached the mountain top in 2014, when she was tabbed as the best defender in Division II by the IWLCA. Williams was also named ECAC Division II Defensive Player of The Year in 2014, after helping Adelphi to the program's sixth NCAA Division II National Championship and the second in Williams' four years in Garden City.Â
Williams' name also dots the Adelphi record books; she ended her career as the program's all-time leader in ground balls with 165 and finished second in draw controls at 218. She also caused over 100 turnovers (106) in her four years as a member of the Adelphi defense.Â
