Amy Rizzo

Amy Rizzo is entering her first season as a member of the women’s lacrosse staff, her responsibilities will include recruiting and scouting.

Rizzo comes to Adelphi from Summit, New Jersey, where she was the head coach of the Kent Place girl’s lacrosse team. In her only season at the helm, she improved the team’s record to 15-6 and led the team to a ranking of 11th in the state of New Jersey. In addition, Kent Place finished as Union County and Prep “A” Tournament runner-ups last spring.

She has also gained valuable experience working with Building Blocks Lacrosse in New Jersey since 2010. There she coached the Girl's 2016 Black Team for Building Blocks Elite Travel and also gained experience as a recruiter. Rizzo also launched the company's girl's college recruitment service and has assisted with marketing and running events.

As a collegian, Rizzo was a four-year member of the women’s lacrosse team at Long Island University – Brooklyn and also competed as a member of their soccer program. She was a four-time all-conference selection and a three-time team MVP, graduating as the program’s all-time leading scorer in 2007. 

Upon graduation, Rizzo joined the coaching staff and spent three years on the sidelines at LIU, assisting in all aspects of the program. Also, during her time at LIU, Rizzo earned a bachelor’s degree in management and marketing and went on to graduate with an MBA in marketing in 2010.
