Ann Obermeyer

Ann Obermeyer was named the first Adelphi University women’s golf coach in program history effective for the 2014-15 academic year.

With more than 20 years of experience, Obermeyer currently sits as the teaching professional at the nearby Village of Sands Point Golf Course. At Sands Point since May 2007, Obermeyer oversees a junior golf program that features more than 120 juniors as well holding teaching duties and tournament operations responsibilities.

Obermeyer spent time in 1993 as a teaching professional at Brae Burn Country Club in Scarsdale, N.Y. before becoming an assistant professional at two clubs in Cincinnati, Ohio. She first spent five years at Royal Oak Country Club before a year at the Kenwood Country Club. Prior to arriving at Sands Point, she returned to Scarsdale and spent eight seasons as the teaching professional at Quaker Ridge Golf Club.

In August 2006, Obermeyer completed the LPGA Class A Practical Teaching Evaluation. During her playing career, Obermeyer finished second place at the Women’s Met Open twice (1999 and 2002). She earned her undergraduate degree from San Jose State in May of 1986, and was a member of the LPGA Tour from 1989-1992 -- a career highlighted by qualifying for the Women’s U.S. Open in 1985 and 1992.
