Adelphi University grad Linda Cimino joins the women's basketball coaching staff in 2005-06. Cimino will be responsible for alumni relations, scouting and recruiting, coaching the guard position and monitoring conditioning and weight room activities. In addition, she will also assist with camps and clinics. A basketball letterwinner 1997-2000, Cimino still ranks in Adelphi all-time career top ten in several categories including free throw percentage, three point field goals and three-point field goal attempts. She also shares the Adelphi single game record for most three-pointers in a game with six set on November 29, 1998. Cimino worked in SID office as an undergrad and was a member of the first SAAC e-board in 1997. Cimino earned her degree in health and physical education in 2001 and was named department major of the year of her senior graduating class. She received a masters in health education in 2004. She will obtain her second masters in school district administration from Touro College in 2005. Cimino is an American Heart Association CPR/AED instructor and a member of the NY Basketball coaches Association. She also continues to compete in the urban professional league in Manhattan Her previous coaching experience includes serving as the head coach at Queensborough Community College for one season. For the past three seasons she was the head varsity girl's basketball coach at Calhoun HS and also coached varsity volleyball for four years. A native of Lincoln, Rhode Island, she currently resides in South Freeport, N.Y. and is employed at Calhoun High School in the Bellmore-Merrick school district as a health teacher. She is also on the Executive Committee of the Adelphi University Panther Club responsible for reaching out to Young Alumni.
