Krystal Wells

Krystal Wells enters her first season as an Assistant Coach for the Adelphi University women's basketball team in 2016-17. She will assist in all apects of the women's basketball program, which also includes coordinating recruiting. 

Wells comes to Adelphi from Colby College in Waterville, Maine, where she spent the 2015-16 season in the same roles. In her role as recruiting coordinator, Wells organized recruiting calendar to execute calls, e-mails, mailings, campus visits, and recruiting events to identify, evaluate and recruit prospective student-athetes. Wells also assisted in practice planning, handled film and video exchange and worked primarily with the team's guards on ball-handling and passing. Prior to Colby, Wells spent one season at Regis College in Weston, Mass. In her time at Regis, Wells helped the Pride to two New England Collegiate Conference Championships. Regis made two NCAA appearances, had a 45-11 overall record, and was 36-0 in league play during this time. She had success in bringing top recruits to Regis, as two student-athletes she recruited were honored as the 2015 NECC Rookie of the Year and on the 2016 NECC First Team.

Wells was a four-year Division I player at Long Island University Brooklyn and led the Blackbirds to a 69-53 record in her collegiate career. As a two-time team captain, she was second in scoring (10.1) and first in three-point field goal percentage (.350) as a senior. Wells, a dean’s list student in all semesters, finished her LIU career with 135 made three-point shots.

Wells graduated summa cum laude from LIU Brooklyn in 2013 with a dual degree in management and marketing. The Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., native, Wells also earned her M.A. in special education from Regis in 2015.Â
