Emily Miccile didn't shy away from Adelphi for too long after graduation.

Miccile moved into an assistant coaching role with the Adelphi University women's basketball program in 2022-23.

"We are thrilled to have Emily join us in the next phase of her career. She has meant so much to this program, university, and community," said Head Coach Sade Jackson. "Her knowledge of the game and experience as a former player in this program will be invaluable. I am excited to see her flourish in this capacity."

Miccile wrapped up a successful five-year tenure as a player with the Brown and Gold in 2021-22. Over her career, Miccile's outstanding academic reputation twice earned her CoSIDA Academic All-District and NE10 Academic All-Conference distinction.

In 2021-22, Miccile's on-court play resulted in a First Team All-Met and Third Team NE10 All-Conference honor, in addition to being named the NE10 Defensive Player of the Year.

Additionally, Miccile became the 25th player in program history to surpass 1,000 career points. Her 1,114 career points place her 21st all-time among the school's career scoring leaders.

"It is an honor to be able to work alongside a coaching staff who cares so much about their players and the future of the program. I am excited to be able to give back to the program that gave so much to me and I am looking forward to learning about the game from a new perspective," Miccile said.

Miccile originally hails from Wrentham, Mass.
