Dario Hernandez begins his first season as an assistant coach for the Panthers' women's basketball team.
Hernandez received his degree in Recreation from Shaw University where he also served as a student manager for the men's basketball team. While serving as a manager, he would assist with individual workouts and player development, filmed games for the coaching staff, was solely responsible for perimeter player development, and tutored players in Math, English, Biology, and Spanish.
Hernandez also served as a coach/counselor at several basketball camps including Coach K's Duke Basketball Camp and Gary Williams Basketball Camp. Aside from his coaching experience, Hernandez played one season for Schenectady County Community College and Southern Vermont College.
A native of Corona, New York, Hernandez currently works at Big Apple Basketball in Manhattan where he serves as a coach, administrative assistant, and an academic coordinator. He handles administrative duties and statistics for all summer league games, assists with individual workouts and recruiting, manages players strength and conditioning workouts in the off-season, and monitors academic grade reports and tutors players in a variety of subjects.
