In addition to serving as an assistant coach, Damien Jackson recently wrapped up his first season as Director of Player Development for the Adelphi women's basketball program in 2021-22.
It is Jackson's first appointment at the collegiate level, after spending three years (2018-21) as an assistant junior varsity and varsity coach at Forest Hills High School.
His responsibilities included co-leading and assisting with practices with various drills and instruction, developing game plans, providing training sessions and handling social media engagement.
Jackson also coached the Queens Defenders, a New York City-based AAU program, and led clinics four times a week for those between the ages of 6-19.
Jackson's commitment to basketball is year-round. He is the CEO of The Only Way Is Up (TOWIU), a basketball skills academy based out of Queens.
Since 2018, he has conducted individual player analysis to highlight players’ strengths and areas of improvement and led 1-on-1 and group skills development sessions that includes ball handling, shooting, agility, conditioning, and personal growth.
A certified Life & Success Coach, Jackson graduated from Jefferson Community College in 2015 with his associate's degree in Humanities and Social Sciences. He originally hails from Queens.
