Briann January is entering her first season as a volunteer assistant coach for the women's basketball team. She is currently the starting point guard for the WNBAs Indiana Fever.

January was the 6th overall pick in the 2009 WNBA draft. She is a two-time All-defensive team honoree, and lead the Fever to the 2013 World Championship, two Eastern Conference Championships and two Eastern Conference finals. In 2013 January was named the Inland NW Sportswriter & Broadcasters Professional Athlete of the Year. She has played professionally overseas for four years in Turkey and Israel. 
January was a 2009 graduate of Arizona State University. At ASU January was named back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 seasons. In 2009 she was named to the All PAC-10 First Team, AP & WBCA All-American Honorable Mention and set the ASU single season record for 3 pointers (65). She was also ASU all-time leader in assists (538) and ASU all-time leader for free throw percentage (.830), and was the only player in ASU history to lead the team in steals and assists for four straight years.

Prior to her senior year January was named to the 
All PAC-10 Second Team, twice All PAC-10 All Academic Honorable Mention, AP All-American Honorable Mention, Pac-10 All-Freshmen Team. In her four years she lead ASU to two NCAA elite eight appearances, a sweet 16 appearance and a second round appearance.Â
