Kelvin Campbell

Kelvin Campbell has served the Adelphi University track and field program with distinction for over a decade, having worked with the throwers and sprinters during his time at Adelphi.

Campbell's coaching resume that spans 30 years, and a list of NCAA qualifiers and Olympians under his direction which is nearly as long. In the fall of 2018, Campbell was promoted to Associate Head Coach and the following spring he earned the honor of 2019 East Region Assistant Coach of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). 

Campbell had athletes earn NCAA provisional marks in the 4×400 and 400m, and his outdoor 4×400 relay group ranked first in the region and 17th in the nation in the 2018-19 season. The 4x400 relay's season results included a first-place medal at the Northeast-10 Outdoor Championships, and the first women's wheel at the famed Penn Relays in over 40 years.

He has also completed USATF Level 2 certification for sprints, hurdles, and relays.

Prior to donning the Brown and Gold, Campbell spent seven years at LIU Post, guiding their sprints program. Campbell was an integral part in the rebirth of the program, bringing multiple athletes to the NCAA and IC4A competition.

Prior to LIU Post, Campbell spent eight years at his alma mater, NYIT and played a major role in helping develop runners who later qualified for the Olympic trials, national meets and the NCAA championships.

Campbell currently works for the Long Island University Data Center. He and his wife, Julia, live in Westbury, N.Y. with their three children.
