Adam Clark

Adam Clark is entering his second season as an assistant coach for the cross country and track and field teams.

A four year member of the Adelphi cross country/track and field team, Clark garnered double All-Region honors in 2010-11 during his senior year, as well as Academic All-America status for his efforts in the classroom and on the course.  Additionally, Clark is the current Adelphi school record holder in the 3000m run in both indoor and outdoor track and field.

In 2011, only a few months after graduation, Clark set out on a 3,000 mile run from New York to California to raise money for a rare cancer charity called Shannon's Fight.  He ran on average 35 miles a day and camped out on the side of the road most nights to reach his goal, which was realized on November 21st, 2011, just 94 days from when he started.  Clark is currently working on a memoir about his experiences.

Clark graduated Summa Cum Laude from Adelphi's Honors College in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in psychology.  After his three month odyssey across the country, he is for all intents and purposes retired from competitive running for the time being, but he continues to run recreationally and enjoys lifting weights.
