Nicholas Spinella is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Adelphi University swimming and diving program.
A 2014 graduate of Marist College with a degree in media studies and production along with a minor in business, he was a four-year student-athlete on o the swim team. A team captain his senior year, and a two-time MAAC champion, his successes came from competing in the 200 backstroke and 200 freestyle relay.
A native of Franklin Square, N.Y., he attended H. Frank Carey High School where he was named All-County, All-Long Island, All-State and All-American. He was the Nassau County men's 100 backstroke record holder for seven years and swam for the Long Island Aquatic Club for 12 years where he was a part of two national champion relays as a senior.
