Adelphi University Athletics

Michael Darland joined the Adelphi swimming and diving program prior to the 2020-21 season being canceled. He brings a wealth of knowledge in the diving arena, as owner and head coach of High Dive Champions. 

Darland comes to Adelphi with an impressive resume, including his time as a competitive U.S. Diver on 10-meter Platform, 3 and 1-meter springboard and varsity letter winner on the University of Michigan Diving Team (1975-1979). He was also coached for over eight years by Olympic Coaches Dick Kimball & Ron O'Brien.

He has been a Safety Certification Trainer for U.S. Diving Coaches since 2008 and a FINA Certified International Diving Judge since 2009 (is qualified to judge world level & divers in International Competitions)

Currently, he serves as the Chairman of both the AAU Metropolitan Diving organization and the U.S. Diving - Southern N.Y. Diving Association. Also, Darland has been the the Diving Director of Future Stars Summer Camp since 2007.
