Biography
Honors and Awards: Team MVP (2004-2005).
2007-2008: Opened the season with a second place finish in the 100 Breaststroke against Baruch (10/24)...Placed 14th in the 200 IM at the Rowan Cup (11/17) in a time of 2:19.43...winner against Queens (10/30) in the 100 breast in a time of 1:05.78...swam on the 400 yard Medley relay that placed seventh at METs...finished 13th in the 200 breast at METs.
2006-2007: Swam on the Panther record setting 400 freestyle record...placed 18th in the 100 yard breast stroke at METS...10th place finish in the 200 yard breastroke
2005-2006: Recorded 17 first place finishes in dual meet competition...Qualified for ECAC[apos]s in the 200 (10th place) and 400 (9th place) yard medley relay and the 100 yard breaststroke.
2004-2005: 26 first place finishes in dual meet competition...Top 10 finisher in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 medley relay, 200 medley relay, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 400 freestyle relay...ECAC qualifier in the 200 breaststroke finishing in 12th place.
At St. John's Prep: Four-year member of the varsity swim team...four-time MVP selection and zone qualifier...three-year captain and three-time CHSAA finalist...sectional and state qualifier senior year...placed third in CHSAA in the 100 yard breast stroke...winner of scholar athlete award...member of National Honor Society and a National Hispanic Scholar.
Personal: Son of Cesar and Pat Castillo...plans on majoring in physical education...enjoys football and relaxing in free time.
