Rich Borawski enters his second season as an assistant coach with the softball program.

Borawski comes to Adelphi with coaching backgrounds at the Division I and High School levels in volleyball and softball. From 1993-1999 he served as the Head Softball Coach at Mary Louis Academy in Queens, New York where he compiled a 95-19 record and won a State Catholic High School Championship in 1998, while coaching two All-Americans. Also in 1998, he was named Newsday and Daily News High School Coach of the Year.

From 1999-2002 he was the Assistant Volleyball Coach at Long Island University (Brooklyn), and served the same position at St. Francis College from 2007-2008.

Borawski received his B.S. from the University of Arizona in Business Administration, and received his M.S. in Health Education from Hofstra University.

For the past eight years, Borawski has been a volleyball and fastpitch softball instructor, training high school and college players to improve their strength and performance.

He is currently a Health Education teacher at Howitt Middle School in Farmingdale, New York, while also being a Lieutenant and Lifeguard on the Long Beach Ocean Patrol.

Borawski resides in Long Beach, New York with his wife Laura and their newborn son Brady.
