Lou Vanacore

Lou Vanacore enters his fifth season -- his second as the lead assistant -- on Carla Campagna's staff in 2024.

No stranger to working with Campagna, Vanacore coached for two seasons at LIU Post alongside her.

He is in charge of pitching, catching and hitting instruction at Adelphi, having worked primarily with the LIU Post pitching staff while also assisting with hitting.

In the 2023 season, Vanacore worked with a pitching staff that produced three pitchers who posted sub-2 ERA's, with two of them hitting over 115 innings pitched. He also helped lead Lindsey Hibbs to being named D2CCA East Region and National Pitcher of the Year in addition to First Team All-America status from both NFCA and D2CCA. The success in the circle led the Panthers to their second-consecutive NE10 Championship en route to a record-tying 47 wins.

Vanacore was tabbed the NFCA Division II Assistant Coach of the Year in 2022, in recognition of his work with a pitching staff that was comprised of two All-Americans (Claire Fon and Lindsey Hibbs).

In the same season, Vanacore joined Campagna in being named the NFCA Division II Regional Coaching Staff of the Year, after winning the NE10 Championship and NCAA Division II East Region title on their home field. The team ultimately earned the No. 2 seed at the NCAA Division II National Championship.

For the 2021 campaign, Vanacore was a part of a staff that led the Panthers to 30 wins in 40 games. Adelphi was an NE10 finalist and an NCAA East Regional semifinalist. Additionally, Ally Muller of Coach Lou's pitching staff was named an NFCA Second Team All-American and a D2CCA All-American Honorable Mention.

In 2019, Vanacore was -- again -- a member of the coaching staff that was named the NFCA Division II Regional Coaching Staff of the Year. He helped head coach Jamie Apicella and the Pioneers to a berth in the NCAA Division II National Championship and the No. 1 overall seed in Denver, Colo.

Vanacore is a professional instructor in the areas of pitching, hitting, fielding, agility and conditioning. He has been the lead instructor for many travel teams, such as the Long Island Bandits and Long Island Sudden Impact.

Vanacore graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from St. John’s University, and currently resides in Hicksville with his wife, Cindy.

They have two daughters, Justine and Jenna, the latter of whom was an All-American pitcher for NE10 rival Le Moyne College in 2009.
