Brenna Martini

Brenna Martini

Brenna Martini returned to the Adelphi softball dugout as an assistant coach in 2019, after she completed the most decorated career in Adelphi softball history.

In 2019, Martini's leadership helped the Panthers reach the NE10 Championship final and earn an NCAA Tournament bid. Her experience as an infielder translated to three of Adelphi's starting infielders being recognized to the NE10 All-Conference Team, including Emily Whitman, who was honored as the NE10 Rookie of the Year. Adelphi finished the season at 32-20 and won an NE10 Southwest Division regular-season title in the process.

Martini graduated as the program's all-time leader in nearly all offensive categories, including batting average, home runs, RBIs, doubles, walks, runs scored and total bases.

She was named the NE10 Player of the Year three straight seasons -- the first in league history ever to do so -- after securing Rookie of the Year accolades her freshman year.

Additionally, Martini was a three-time NFCA All-American, which included a first-team nod in her sophomore and junior seasons.

The 2018 NE10 Woman of the Year, Martini posted a .412 career batting average with 254 hits, 56 doubles, 10 triples, 54 home runs and 227 RBIs.

A native of Fairfield, Conn., Martini graduated with her bachelor's degree in Physical Education and recently completed her master's in Sports Management with a specialization in College Athletic Administration from Adelphi. She will serve as a member of the adjunct faculty in the physical education department at Adelphi, starting in the Fall 2020 semester.
