Larry Ryan wrapped up his third season as an assistant coach with the Adelphi University women's bowling team in 2021-22.
Ryan's inaugural year with the Panthers certainly saw its fair share of accomplishments.
Though COVID-19 stopped the Panthers from vying for their goal of an ECC Championship, Adelphi rounded out the year with the most wins (63) and highest winning percentage (.649) of any team in the conference. The Brown and Gold finished the season with a flourish, posting a 42-16 record (.724 winning percentage) after the New Year and capturing four tournament titles in the process.
Then, in the team's post-pandemic return in 2021-22, Adelphi reached the finals of the ECC Championship for the first time since 2017Â and placed three bowlers on the ECC All-Conference Team.
Before coming to Adelphi, Ryan spent more than a decade as the Director of Special Events at Port Jeff Bowl in Port Jefferson Station.
Ryan holds a silver level coaching certification and has coached for the Special Olympics for 20 years
Ryan, who resides in Coram, owns a career-high game of 298 and a career-high series of 806.
