Leo Bruno, a four year standout for the Adelphi University men's tennis team, enters his second season with the Panthers as an assistant coach.
At Adelphi, Bruno served as the president of the Student Athletic Advisory Committee for three years. He also held the title of President of the Physical Education Club, for which he organized community sponsored events including Hoops for Heart, Wheel Chair Basketball and Cans for Cancer. In athletic pursuits outside of tennis, Bruno played on the European Handball Junior National Team.
A member of a trio of health and physical education honor socieities (Phi Sigma Kappa, Phi Epsilon Kappa and Kappa Delta Pi), Bruno was awarded the Department Major of the Year for Physical Education in 2010 and was named both the Presidential Award Recipient for National Student Athlete and Men's Tennis team MVP in 2011.
Bruno earned a Bachelor's degree in physical education in health from Adelphi in 2011. Bruno is currently pursuing a Master's degree in sport management.
Bruno currently teaches physical education at the Urban Dove Team Charter School in Brooklyn. He resides in Howard Beach, N.Y.
