Jon Urbom is beginning his second season as an assistant coach at Adelphi University.
Urbom's primary responsibilities will be working with the goalkeepers at Adelphi. He bring six years of coaching experience to Adelphi, including four years with St. John's, two years with Dowling and one season with St. Francis. Urbom was also the goalkeeper coach for the New York Freedoms from 2001 to 2002.
As a player Urbom competed for the St. John's Red Storm from 1990 through 1993. A three-time All-Big East performer, Urbom was also a two time All-Region selection and was the 1991 Big East Defensive Player of the Year. In 1993 Urbom was selected as a preseason All-American and was a member of the Puerto Rican National Team in 1992 and 1993.
