Ernie Olson begins his second year as an Assistant Coach with the men's lacrosse team. He brings over 30 years of coaching experience to the Panther sidelines including stints at Molloy, St. John's University and Hofstra.
He began his coaching career as the goalie coach and defensive coordinator at Nassau Community College from 1978-1981. He then spent one year at C.W. Post in the same capactiy with additional duties that included recruitment, game and practice planning, and implemented a strength and conditioning program.
After three years with the Pioneers, he spent three years as the offensive corrdinator for the Hofstra Pride. He then joined the staff at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as the goalie coach for a year. From 1990-96 he was an assistant coach at St. John's University as the defensive coordinator once again.
After his time at St. John's, he became an assistant coach at Massapequa High School for six years, and then spent five years as an assistant at Molloy College.
