2009: Adelphi's top runner in five of six meets in 2009, placing among the top-20 in five meets...set a new personal best over 5,000 meters at the Umass-Dartmouth Invitational of 18:37, placing 14th overall...placed second overall at the Hofstra Invitational (19:03)...earned NCAA All-Region honors with a sixth place finish in a time of 23:04...set a personal best over 6,000 meters at the Paul Short run, stopping the clock at 21:59...also earned all-conference honors with a 16th place finish at the Northeast-10 Championship (19:26).

2008: Recorded four top-25 finishes which included a fourth place finish at the ECC Championships and a 23rd place finish at the Regional meet...set a personal best at the Albany Invitational (10/18) with a time of 19:08.

2007: Recorded four top-55 finishes...placed 12th at the Conference Meet...recorded a personal best time at the ECAC Championships clocking in at 20:53.

2006: Competed in five meets. ran a personal best at the Codfish Bowl with a time of 21:49.

At Valley Stream South High School: Three-year letterwinner in soccer...four-year letter winner in track...earned all-division honors as both a freshman and junior...all-conference in the 4x800 as a freshman and a senior...earned all-division honors in the 3000 meters her junior and senior years...named track MVP her junior and senior years...also lettered two years in basketball...a member of the athletic honor society for four years...senior awards received include the Paul Grammatico Memorial Scholarship Award, outstanding senior athlete and most athletic award (2004-05).

Personal: Daughter of Tony and Jan Matteo...born October 13, 1987...an art major...enjoys playing soccer, running, art-drawing and the diving team...has three sisters, Jennifer, Geanna and Paris, and two brothers, Anthony and Matthew.
