Adelphi University Athletics

Matt Demeo was named head golf coach at Adelphi University on September 1, after serving as interm head coach since February 3, by  Director of Athletic and Recreation, Danny McCabe. Demeo is a 2011 graduate of Adelphi and was a four-year member of the golf team.

In his first season at the helm, Demeo led the men’s golf team to an eighth place finish at the 2014 NE-10 Conference Championship. The team finished a season-high seventh at the Franklin Pierce Fall Invitational.

During his four years at Adelphi, Demeo helped the Panthers to two straight Northeast-10 Championships and was a member of four NCAA Championships qualifying teams. He was twice named an All-Northeast-10 performer and was a three-time PING All-Region selection.

Demeo posted over 20 top-10 finishes during his four years competing as a Panther, including picking up victories at the Assumption College Invitational and the Long Island Intercollegiate Championship. He was also a member of more than 20 team championships during his tenure.
