Charles Cohen was appointed to lead the men’s golf program, beginning with the 2015-16 season.
He begins his sixth season in 2020-21. Cohen inherited a program with a longstanding tradition of success. including a run of four NE10 titles (2009, 2010, 2012, 2013) in five seasons.
Cohen came to the university with 20 years of golf instruction and coaching experience with high school and college players throughout Long Island.
Since 2002, Cohen was the head coach of the varsity golf team at Lawrence High School in Cedarhurst, N.Y.
Cohen had several of his players qualify for the Nassau County Golf Championship Tournament, and helped many of them continue their careers on the collegiate level.
Cohen also spent four years as the Coordinator for the Nassau County Golf Coaches Association, where he created schedules for all Nassau County Conference Section V golf teams, served as a liaison between college coaches and high school players, and maintained scoring averages for all conference teams and players.
At nearby Eisenhower Park, Cohen owned and instructed at the Long Island Golf Academy for nine years, where he specialized in creating summer programs for golf students at every level.
Cohen currently resides in Hewlett, N.Y.
