Mike Kerr

Mike Kerr rejoins the Adelphi Men's Basketball staff in 2013 after a five year stint with the Panthers under former head coach James Cosgrove from 2002-07. Kerr's coaching career began in Rockville Centre, N.Y. as an assistant at Molloy College where he was responsible for weight training and conditioning, player evaluation, scouting and recruiting. After seven years with the Lions, he arrived at Adelphi in the same capacity and helped the Brown and Gold to four NCAA Tournament appearances and three conference championships.

In 2007, he became the head men's basketball coach at the Fashion Insitute of Technology where he remained for three years. He earnedthe Region 15 NJCAA Coach of the Year twice, finishing ranked #2 nationally in 2009, coached four All-Conference players, two Region 15 Players of the Year and two All-Americans while posting a three year record of 63-25. He then took over the program at Borough of Manhattan Community College where he remained until the conclusion of the 2013 season.

A native of Floral Park, N.Y., Kerr attended Holy Cross high school and participated in baseball and basketball. He attended Arizona State for one year before transferring to Allentown College where he graduated in 1994 with a B.S. in Sport Management. He earned his masters in physical education from Adelphi in 1994. Kerr makes his home in Brookly, N.Y.
