Mason Rivera enters his first season as an assistant coach under David Mattana, following four years as a member of the Adelphi men’s golf team.

Rivera competed for Adelphi from 2021 to 2025, earning a spot on the NE10 All-Conference Second Team in his senior season. That year, he also recorded his career-best 54-hole score, shooting a combined 222 over three days at the LIU Invitational.

During his time as a Panther, Rivera received multiple honors for both his athletic and academic performance. He was named to the Academic Honor Roll in eight different semesters and earned Academic All-Conference recognition in the 2022–2023 season. He also received the D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award that same year.

Other career highlights for Rivera include shooting a 67 (-9) at the Vulcan Invitational in 2022—his lowest single-round score—and a 36-hole career best of 139 at the Franklin Pierce Invitational, also in 2022.

Rivera graduated from Adelphi in the spring with a degree in Economics and now plans to pursue a master’s degree at the university.
