Biography

Les Boyce is entering his first year as an assistant director of Campus Recreation. His responsibilities at Adelphi include managing the campus recreation staff of student workers, the fitness center and the pool among other duties. A 2007 graduate of Purdue University, Boyce was a facility manager in his final year, helping to manage the Recreational Sports and Boilermaker Aquatic Center as well as helping to maintain the fields. He also spent time as a member services supervisor and intramural office while at Purdue. Upon graduating from Purdue, Boyce matriculated at Wintrhop University, where he was a graduate assistant in the athletic department for facilities. His responsibilities included recruiting and hiring a staff of 70 as well as over seeing the staff and creating handbooks and policies. Boyce was also responsible for opening and closing the Lois Rhame West Health, Education and Wellness Center and with scheduling. In his most recent position, Boyce was an intern at the University of Connecticut as the coordinator of facilities. He was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the University of Connecticut recreation facility as well as programming and scheduling. Boyce holds a Bachelors of Science in Management from Purdue University and a Masters of Science in Physical Education, Athletic Administration from Winthrop University.
