Jamie Ahrens enters her first season as an assistant coach with the Adelphi University field hockey team in 2018, following a standout four-year career for the Panthers.
A two-time NE10 All-Conference Second Team selection as a junior and senior, Ahrens started in 72 of 76 games she appeared in across four years in the Brown and Gold.
She is tied for sixth all-time in career games in modern team history, having scored eight goals and tallied nine assists in her career as a midfielder and defender. Ahrens also earned All-Rookie selection by the NE10 following her freshman year, and helped Adelphi to a pair of NCAA Tournament berths in 2014 and 2015.
A native of Massapequa Park, N.Y., Ahrens earned a bachelor's degree in communications with minors in elementary education and peace studies in May of 2018.
