Following a decorated playing career at Adelphi, Elissa Frein will now take to the sidelines as an assistant coach with the Panthers' field hockey program in 2020-21.
Frein ranks in the Top 5 all-time at Adelphi in every career scoring category -- goals (33), assists (20) and points (86).Â
Frein's senior season saw her tally a career-best-tying 11 goals, en route to earning NE10 All-Conference first-team and NFHCA All-America second-team honors.
As a base of Adelphi's offense, Frein helped lead the team to a historic 2019 season that saw the Panthers tie a single-season record for wins with 14.
She finished her career as a three-time NE10 All-Conference selection and two-time All-ECAC honoree and Synapse Sports All-American. Her career-high 29 points as a freshman resulted in her being named the NE10 and ECAC Rookie of the Year.
