Michael Amendola

Michael Amendola joins the Adelphi University baseball coaching staff for his first season as an assistant coach for the Panthers in 2018.

The University of Hartford graduate comes to Garden City after playing Division I baseball for the Hawks. During his career, he was a three-year starting catcher, team captain and received the Kyle Valentine Senior Leadership Award.

After graduation, Amendola served as the varsity head coach at St. Anthony's High School, where he played a major role in 30 players receiving All-League honors as well as one league MVP. In addition to this, he was a key component in having over 50 of his players move on to college rosters throughout all three NCAA divisions.

Amendola arrives at Adelphi from John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he served as an assistant baseball coach. Last season, he worked with hitters, infielders and catchers, as well as owning responsibility for recruitment of incoming players.

Amendola also coaches the Riverhead Tomcats of the Hamptons Collegiate Baseball League. As head coach, he lead the team to break the franchise record for wins, as well as producing eight All-Stars and three players named to Top 10 Prospects list by Baseball America.
