2001: Fought through a major back injury and batted .333 in 11 games...recorded his first collegiate hit vs. Bridgeport (4/4)... went 2-5 with a home run and two RBI in his first collegiate start vs. Dowling (4/5)...batted 2-4 with a triple and two RBI vs. Mercy (4/13).

At John Jay: Lettered in baseball and soccer...named league MVP as a senior...named all-section as a senior. Was captain of his baseball team as a senior.

Personal: Son of Augie and Jill Alvarez...Has one brother named Sean and a sister named Andrea that currently resides in California...his father played football for the Army while serving America during the Vietnam era. Personal: A sport management major...hobbies include working out, snowboarding, fishing and riding street bikes....favorite team is the NY Yankees...favorite athlete-Arnold Swartzenegger... future plans include a career in the sport management, becoming a professional baseball player and a career in landscape design, or landscape architecture.
