Mark G. Grossman, MD is an attending orthopaedic surgeon at Winthrop University Hospital who specializes in sports medicine and shoulder surgery. He treats young sports participants, as well as middle-aged and elderly recreational athletes, and serves as the team physician for Adelphi University and local area high schools. He serves as the team physician for the All American Baseball High School Game in Montclair, New Jersey 2003, and the US Army All American Football Game 2003-04, in San Antonio, Texas. With vast experience in the latest arthroscopic technique, Dr. Grossman also utilizes open surgery, when indicated. He performs shoulder, elbow and knee reconstructive procedures, including arthroscopic treatment of rotator cuff tears, shoulder stabilization, elbow reconstruction, ACL reconstruction of the knee and total shoulder replacement. He emphasizes not only rehabilitation, but also training to prevent sports injuries.

Rupi Johal, MD
Specialty: Primary Care Sports Medicine - Nonoperative Management
Dr. Johal is a primary care sports medicine physician who specializes in the treatment and prevention of nonoperative sports related injuries. She focuses on the comprehensive health of athletes of all ages. She is originally from California and completed her residency training in primary care at Kaiser Permanente Southern California, during which she served as chief resident. She then decided to pursue her passion of sports medicine and completed a fellowship in Primary Care Sports Medicine at Kaiser Permanente.  She has been a team physician for a wide spectrum of professional and college teams, and has volunteered time at Ironman Kona and various triathlons.  She provides compassion and patience when treating her patient athletes, to get each one back to activity as soon and as safely as possible.
