Tempe, Ariz. — In what has been a historic season for both the Adelphi women's and men's tennis teams, Rebecca Fakas and Katarina Liedbeck have been recognized as the best in the East by the ITA.

After being named the Northeast 10 Women's Tennis Coach of the Year, Fakas has been named the ITA/Dunlop Coach of the Year for both men's and women's tennis. Fakas led the programs to a combined 33-12 record, two regular-season NE10 titles and two NE10 Championship titles. Both tennis programs reached the NCAA Tournament, with the women's team reaching the final 16 in Surprise, Arizona for the first time in program history.

Liedbeck adds to her trophy case, being awarded the ITA East Region Senior Player of the Year award. The Bastad, Sweden native has previously been named the NE10 Player of the Year, the NE10 Elite 24 Award winner and a first-team NE10 selection in both singles and doubles play. Liedbeck currently has a 16-4 record as Adelphi's No. 1 singles player and a 16-5 doubles record playing with Roisin Boyd as the Panthers' No. 1 pairing. She will look to lead the women's tennis team to a national championship when its journey starts on Tuesday.
