#13 Women's Lacrosse Tops Molloy, 20-3 in Non-League Action

Garden City, N.Y. - Seven different individuals finished with three or more points in no. 13 Adelphi women's lacrosse's 20-3 victory over Molloy University on Wednesday evening at Motamed Field.

Series History:
  • The Panthers maintain their undefeated streak against the Lions, making the overall record 9-0 all time since the 2006 season.
Highlights:  How It Happened:
  • Adelphi put a pair of quick goals on the board in the opening frame but nearly six minutes passed before a team scored again, when Olivia Zummo recorded her third tally of the season to make it 3-0.
  • Molloy got their first of the game - and only of the quarter - at 3:17 which was closely followed by another Sefransky strike to bump the lead back out to three before time expired.
  •  After another two goals in the early going, the Panthers (8-4) scored four times in a matter of a minute with three straight wins in the draw circle to jump out to a 10-1 advantage. Running time was reached at 8:06 when Colalillo landed her second of the contest to make it 11-1. Molloy (4-8) stopped the nine-goal run for the home team when they scored under the two minute mark, still trailing by 11 at the halftime break.
  • With time continuing to run through the third, Adelphi still managed to put up a four-spot, as Panther netminder Jillian McFadden let in one but stopped two for the Lions only tally of the half.
  • Morra was responsible for two goals in the final quarter, as Leggio assisted on both and scored her own to make it 20-3 in the non-league matchup.
Up Next:
  • Adelphi will return to Northeast 10 Conference action on Saturday, April 11 when they host Southern New Hampshire University at 1:00 p.m..
  • The program will celebrate the members of the senior class following the game.
