Garden City, N.Y. – The Adelphi University men's basketball team took care of business on Saturday afternoon, defeating Saint Michael's College, 73–55. Four Panthers scored in double figures, highlighted by Mason Jackson, who reached the 1,000-point milestone for his collegiate career.

- Jarnel Rancy added 13 points as well, leading the Panthers on the glass with nine rebounds to go along with three blocks.
How it Happened:
- The Panthers jumped out to a 6–0 start, but the Purple Knights battled back to take a 12–9 lead with under 14 minutes remaining in the first half.
- Both teams settled in and traded baskets, as Jackson and Burke combined to briefly regain the lead before a three-pointer from Greg Kenney swung momentum back to Saint Michael's.
- After several more possessions, both teams went scoreless for over three-and-a-half minutes as physicality increased. Jackson snapped the drought at the free-throw line and followed shortly after with a three-pointer to give the Brown and Gold a two-point advantage while reaching the 1,000-point mark.
- Burke then scored the Panthers' next five points to give the home team a five-point lead with under three minutes remaining in the half.
- Adelphi extended its lead to six with 49 seconds left before Saint Michael's connected on back-to-back baskets, cutting the margin to two heading into the break.
- Out of halftime, the Panthers offense hit its stride, opening the second half on a 23–8 run by the midway point. Walton, Rancy, Al-Fatir Connor, and Matthew Price led the charge.
- Following a pair of layups from Jackson, Adelphi built its largest lead of the afternoon at 27 points with six minutes remaining.
- Saint Michael's closed the game on a 14–5 run, but the outcome was well in hand as Adelphi cruised to the victory.
- The Panthers won the second-chance points battle, 9–5, and scored 42 points in the paint compared to 32 for Saint Michael's.
- Adelphi also tallied 10 of its 11 fast-break points in the second half while shooting an impressive 72 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes.
