- Adelphi (13-12,7-11 NE10) wins the regular season series with the Yellow Jackets (16-10, 10-8 NE10). going 2-0 in 2025-26, as the former stands at 20-17 overall since the 2003 season.
- The Panthers have won the last four matchups and five of the last seven meetings.
Highlights:
- Me'Challe Cancer took 13 trips to the free throw line (team-leading) and went 10-13 alongside a 3-for-4 clip from the field to finish with 17 points. She added nine rebounds and a trio of steals.
- Victoria Morales finished with a team-best 21 points with a pair of three pointers and added 12 rebounds while also picking up three steals and three blocks.
- Also finishing in double-figures was Gamila Betton, who had 14 points (6-for-10) and nearly capped a double-double with eight boards.
How It Happened:
- A back-and-forth first quarter resulted in a 7-0 run for the home team across the final three minutes to give them a three point edge at the break. AIC's bench poured in seven of the team's 10 points as the teams were relatively even otherwise.
- The lead changed again several times in the early going of the second, but at the halfway point, the Yellow Jackets picked up a lead they did not relinquish through halftime. Adelphi struggled to string a few strong possessions together, but still only trailed by four when time expired.
- Morales went off in the third quarter, going 6-for-9 from the field and could not be stopped, accounting for 14 of Adelphi's 19 points in the frame. In the 10 minute stretch, AIC managed to score 11 points of Panther miscues but still both teams were responsible for 19 points in the third frame.
- Trailing by four with 10 minutes left in regulation, the Panthers ripped off a 23-8 run with 50 percent shooting from the floor while the hosts barely shot 15 percent. Cancer provided the spark with 11 points, going perfect from the floor with a 4-for-5 clip from the free throw line.
- At 5:06, Morales made it a six point margin in favor of Adelphi that all but sealed the deal for the Cats. Madison Williams wanted in on the action beyond the arc, draining a three of her own at 1:48 to make it a double-digit contest.
