Garden City, N.Y. - In its final dual meet of the 2025-26 season, the Adelphi University swimming programs swept Assumption University on Saturday, following a celebration of the senior class.
Men's Highlights:
- The men outscored the Greyhounds 59-29.
- To open the meet, the 200 medley relay inched closer to their season best time (1:30.12) putting up a time of 1:35.33 to lead all three lanes.
- Valerii Pidhorestskyy was responsible for three top swims, including the anchor leg of the 200 medley alongside his 50 and 100 free performances.
- Nils Forster topped the lanes in the 200 freestyle by over three seconds, touching the wall in 1:51.19.
- Tyler Thompson nearly matched his season best 200 IM time from a week ago, touching the wall in 1:59.83.
Women's Highlights:
- The women took a 58-36 victory over Assumption.
- Emily Munayirji took three top swims including a pair of individual victories (200 free and 100 back) and one win in the 200 medley relay, where she swam the anchor leg.
- Angelina Fazzino finished the 1000 freestyle nearly 22 seconds faster than the next racer, clocking in at 11:28.72.
- Natalia Brulinski highlighted the 200 individual medley event, with a time of 2:24.34, leading teammate Daniela Zunich who finished second in a time of 2:28.82.
Adelphi returns to action next month when they take on the four-day Northeast 10 Conference Championship meet. The event will be hosted at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, starting on Feb. 12.
